We have both a Junior and Adult section of the club.
Our Adult Section organizes weekly pick up games currently in Austin & Dallas and we are working on creating the same in OKC.
Our players from all cities come together to form competitive mixed & single gender teams that play in tournaments around the country.
Importantly many of these players coach within our Junior Section and pass on their passion for & knowledge of the game to the next generation.
We run the same field hockey programming in all 3 of our cities concurrently.
We take players of ALL ABILITIES from the age of 5 until 19.
Our base offering to kids is Weekly Training that is organized into 3x Seasons within the year; Fall, Winter & Spring.
These Seasons are approximately 8/9 weeks long and each weekly session is usually 2 hours. The times and days vary depending on the city but are almost always on the weekends (usually Sunday).
Fall & Spring Seasons are outdoor on turf fields, Winter is Indoor in a Gym or Roller Rink.
Each 2 hour session combines:
- technical instruction on fundamental skills
- gameplay scenarios
- scrimmages
We generally organize the kids by age: u8, u10, u12, u14, u16 & u19 but on occasion we do use some flexibility depending on the technical ability & experience of players.
It is really important that players master the required technical fundamentals at each level before advancing. Field Hockey is a very technical sport.
With the right foundation almost all our players flourish, enjoy and improve consistently. However shortcutting the technical foundation stunts growth & subsequent satisfation.
You may register your kids for just one, or every season within the year. If you miss the start of a season, no problem. Contact us and we can pro-rate costs and ensure your child is placed in the right group for their age & ability.
If you are totally new to the sport, you are welcome to come along to any of our Weekly training sessions to try it out, meet the coaches and see if you like it. Completely free of charge. Please just email us here to let us know you are coming.
If you are new but are already decided that you want to join then sign up for the Season currently on offer in your city. If you have missed the start, don't worry - just email us here and we'll prorate your cost and add you to the right group for you age & ability.
One of the challenges of being a niche sport here in Texas is that there are not may other local clubs to play regularly. We adjust for this in a number of ways:
- We scrimmage internally every week during training.
- We have one night per week of just small sided games (for Select Players only, see below).
- We enter a team to play against Schools in the Middle School league in Austin (for players Grades 5-8) and are working on creating this in Dallas. Check out the 'Tournaments & Leagues' tab for more information.
- We host local tournaments, 2 in the Fall and 2 in the Spring. In Austin & Dallas. Check out the 'Tournaments & Leagues' tab for more information.

Please come to each practice with the following:
- Tennis shoes or Sneakers (not cleats)
- Athletic wear
- Shinguards (you can use soccer ones)
- Mouthguard (they sell these at every Dicks or Academy)
- Stick? Not essential, you can borrow one from the club at the beginning and we will guide you to wear and what to buy for your first stick.
- Water Bottle
- Sunscreen
We are fortunate so have a large adult hockey community to support us so we usually have a coach to player ratio of at a minimum 1:10, but often as many as 1:5.
Once players age up to the U12 age group they have the option of joining each Season as either a Club or Select player.
A Club player is just attending our Weekly training sessions on the weekend, nothing more. If the player is a beginner then at least one Season as a Club player is required before they can join Select.
Select is our more Advanced group from which Travel Teams are selected. This is for players who want more hockey, and are interested in competitive tournament play.
Select offers additional small side scrimmaging one night per week (usually as Wednesday) but check your City Location page for confirmation.
