Mare started playing at the age of 8. She played for Milwaukee field hockey & Arrowhead HS in Wisconsin plus attended multiple travel tournaments though out her career. She participated in futures in 2017 and was named to Region 9's team. She then continued playing collegiate hockey at Lindenwood University and graduated in fall of 2021.
